{At fault} A charming antique porcelain bowl from Limoges, produced by the renowned firm Jean Pouyat Limoges in the late 1800’s and beautifully decorated with a delicate hand-painted cherub at the center. Radiating panels extend outward like petals from the central medallion, framed by richly gilded stems and graceful lily pad motifs that form the sculptural handles. The design reflects the flowing elegance associated with the Art Nouveau period, when natural forms such as leaves and water plants inspired some of the most beautiful decorative porcelain produced in France.

Lavish gilding and enameling on the cherub adds warmth and brilliance, while the charming cherub lends a whimsical romantic character. The JPL mark on the underside dates the bowl to 1894, a period when Limoges porcelain was admired worldwide for its artistry and refinement. Two visible repairs are present within the gilt lily pad areas- I have shown two different photos of each one. Another repair on the outside of the foot and one on the outside of the bowl. These historic restorations do not diminish the sculptural beauty or decorative appeal of the piece, and the bowl remains a striking example of ornate Limoges porcelain.

Not perfect, a survivor that I couldn’t leave behind. Please only adopt this if you can love it with flaws as shown. Priced accordingly, this beauty was so beloved by the collector that they had it repaired. Marked on bottom in green with J.P. over L. and FRANCE in a semicircle below. Hand signed in gold on the bottom by the artist.
