Framed Eurasian Coot Print, Plate 24 | Olof Rudbeck the Younger

A finely detailed lithographic print of the Eurasian coot, originally illustrated by Swedish naturalist Olof Rudbeck the Younger and issued as Plate No. 24 from The Great Bird Book. Rudbeck (16601740), a central figure in Swedish scientific history, documented flora and fauna through extensive study and royal-sponsored expeditions, leaving behind a body of work that bridges science and art.

This edition was reproduced in the 1980s in a limited run, printed in Italy and published in Switzerland. The composition retains the clarity and restraint of the original engraving, with a quiet precision that feels both scholarly and decorative.
