Touched with gold, the lion atop this slender box catches the light like a precious antique fitting. The contrast between the lustrous detail, luminous white glaze and dark terracotta edges gives the piece an especially ceremonial presence.

Handmade in Paris from black terracotta, each piece is stamped with the Astier de Villatte monogram and the initials of the artisan who crafted it. Subtle variations in form, surface and glaze are integral to its character.
