HF-127 China Blue

China Blue is an intense, opaque cobalt-blue glaze that has a consistent, reliable result that is great for classrooms.

Several artists have experimented with this glaze in wood, soda, and salt at temperatures up to cone 12, which yielded great results!

Make sure you always test when exploring alternative firings for any of AMACO’s glazes.

High Fire(HF)

The High Fire Cone 5 glaze series combines your favorites from the legacy Sahara and Celebration glaze lines. High Fire glazes produce interesting effects in both oxidation and reduction and should be brush-applied to bisque ware fired to Cone 04 for the best results.

Cone 5 = 1184C (at 150C/hour for the final 100C of firing) / 2201F ( at 270F/hour in the final 200F of firing)

Cone 6 = 1241C (at 150C/hour for the final 100C of firing) / 2266F ( at 270F/hour in the final 200F of firing)
