A single apple rests at the centre of this small plate with the clarity of an antique teaching card. The individual John Derian piece is vivid, direct and wonderfully easy to mix with other imagery.

Created as John Derian for Astier de Villatte, each piece is handmade in Paris from black terracotta and finished with the maisons luminous white glaze. Slight variations in form, surface and image placement are integral to its character.
