Lee decorates his pots using the traditional Korean method of Punch’ng. White slip is applied to a dark stoneware body. Spread with his hands, and incised with tools. Sometimes different coloured slips are flicked over the white surface, in a Jackson Pollack like way. Forest, waterfall, the sky – nature is very much in evidence in Lee’s beautiful pots.

Lee’s work is in public collections worldwide, including the V&A and the British Museum in the UK.

Lee decorates his pots using the traditional Korean method of Buncheong. White slip is applied to a dark stoneware body. Whilst it is still wet Lee uses his hands to spread it over the pot, using tools to incise the slip in expressive motions. Forest, waterfall, the sky – nature is very much in evidence in Lee’s beautiful pots.
