A Teec Nos Pos (often spelled Teec Nos Pos or Tee Nos Pos) Navajo rug is a distinctive and highly regarded style of traditional Navajo weaving. The name comes from a trading post and community in northeastern Arizona near the Four Corners area, translating roughly from Navajo as “circle of cottonwood trees” (Tiis Nazbas).

This style emerged around 1905, evolving from influences like J.B. Moore’s Crystal weaving patterns and heavily inspired by Persian (Oriental) rugs introduced by traders in the early 20th century. Weavers in the region adapted these motifs into their own bold, intricate designs, blending Middle Eastern elements with Navajo aesthetics.
