Navajo sterling silver horseshoe pins (or brooches) are a classic piece of Native American jewelry, often symbolizing good luck and protection. The horseshoe motif draws from Southwestern traditions, where it’s similar to the naja (an inverted horseshoe pendant commonly seen on squash blossom necklaces), which has roots in Spanish-Mexican horse bridle ornaments adopted by Navajo silversmiths in the 19th century.
