Antique treasures that were never originally meant to be worn together are ones I love bringing together most.. This one-of-a-kind Objet Trouv necklace brings together an antique gold-filled locket, a wonderful Victorian chatelaine pencil in gold with a twist-off top and tiny purple amethyst, and a carved mother-of-pearl cross. Each has its own history and its own beauty, yet together they make an unexpected combination that feels as though it has been collected over time.

I love the little Victorian chatelaine pencil most of all, especially the tiny purple amethyst set into its top. The chunky paperclip chain is flash-plated 18K gold over stainless steel and closes with a toggle at the front. At 19 1/2″ long, the necklace has a wonderful presence without feeling overly formal. The antique locket, luminous mother-of-pearl cross, and tiny chatelaine pencil each bring something different to the necklace, yet somehow they all belong together. That is the fun of Objet Trouv.
