The studios seaside world takes a wonderfully unexpected turn in this pelican, made for a nautical tree or collected display.

Handmade in the upstate New York studio of Crystal and Ben Sloane, each character reflects the artists distinctive interpretation of historic German spun-cotton decoration. Painted faces, miniature costume details, natural fibres, paper, wire, and found materials give the work its singular presence.
