Pomo micro miniature baskets are exquisite examples of traditional Native American basketry crafted by the Pomo people, a group of Indigenous tribes from Northern California, primarily in the Mendocino and Lake County regions. These baskets are renowned for their incredible fineness of weave, intricate designs, and diminutive scaleoften measuring less than an inch in diameter or heightshowcasing the extraordinary skill and patience of Pomo weavers, who were predominantly women. The term “micro miniature” typically refers to the tiniest of these works, sometimes as small as 3/16 1/4 inches (about the size of a small pea), making them true feats of artistry.
