Allen Funt (creator of Candid Camera) is best known for assembling a major collection of paintings by the Victorian artist Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. He owned about 35 works at its peak. These were exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1973 (Victorians in Togas) and then sold at Sothebys Belgravia on 6 November 1973. Catalogues of the collection and sale list Alma-Tadema titles such as The Roses of Heliogabalus, Spring, The Finding of Moses, and others; none is called Pack Saddle or similar. A pack saddle itself is a type of equestrian tack (e.g., sawbuck/crossbuck, Decker, or military styles such as Phillips or Otago) designed to carry loads on horses, mules, or donkeys rather than a rider.
