Clay Handbuilding Part 1

Form. Texture. Creativity.

Get your hands in the clay and learn the basics of creating pottery without a wheel. In this introductory Art Foundations workshop, students will explore simple handbuilding techniques while learning how form, texture, and design work together in clay.

You’ll have the opportunity to create a functional or decorative piece of your own while experimenting with texture and surface design. This class is designed to be approachable for beginners, but anyone who enjoys working with clay is welcome.

Your finished piece will be left with us to dry and receive its first kiln firing. Then you can return for Part 2: Glazing & Finishing to add color and complete your work.
